200 Year old Church Destroyed

The All Saint Church in Fleet, Hampshire has been destroyed by fire. The Church notable due to its architect, William Burges and constructed in 1861-2 has served as venue for weddings and other church activities for more than 100 years. Though the main structure and brick work of the church is intact, the roof has been completely destroyed by fire. This has thrown wedding plans of many couples due to tie the knot in the coming weeks into disarray. There were however no life lost in the incident.

A 17-year-old boy from Fleet has been arrested and detained in connection with the incident and the fire has been contained by fire crews.
